To listen and reach out to all of our families
Preschool (3-4 yr olds)
Mixed Age (3 1/2 - 5 yr olds)
Preschool: Tuesday and Thursday mornings 8:30 - 11:00am
Requirements: 3 years of age by September 1st and toilet trained
For many children, preschool is the first experience being away from family and in a group setting. The preschool class is designed to provide enriching activities to support a child's social and emotional growth utilizing the Pyramid model for social/emotional competency. Our staff is dedicated to making this first experience a happy, positive first-step in learning. Opportunities for cooperative play, communication, friendship, and building self-confidence fill their day. Children are introduced to colors, shapes, letters, and numbers as well as enjoying arts and crafts, and music and movement. Also, development of large and small motor skills are components in all activities. Children feel safe to explore, play, learn, and grow in a safe and consistent program, with nurturing, supportive teachers.
Mixed Age: Tuesday and Thursday 10:30am - 3:30pm
Requirements: 3 1/2 years (by Sept.1st) - 5 years of age
The Mixed age is a combination of Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten students. Mixed age groups for 3-5 year olds are valuable as they promote significant social and emotional development by allowing children to learn from and interact with peers of different ages, fostering skills like empathy, cooperation, leadership, and improved language development where older children can model positive behaviors for younger ones while younger children benefit from exposure to more advanced concepts and language use; this can also enhance academic achievement and build self-esteem by providing opportunities for children to take on leadership roles and help others. In addition, the Mixed Age class allows TVP to offer more Pre-K UPK spots for children in the community.
Generally, the Preschool students (3-4yrs.) move up to the Pre-Kindergarten class (4-5yrs.), making these spaces less available. We suggest that if your intention is to start your child in the Pre-Kindergarten session, you enroll your child at 3 years of age to ensure a Pre-Kindergarten spot the following year.
“We adore TVP. Our 3rd child is now attending. I’m so happy all of my kids got to experience the great staff and wonderful curriculum.”

Pre-Kindergarten Classes
(4-5 year olds)
This session meets:
Monday & Wednesday & Friday - 8:30am - 2:00pm
Requirements: 4 years of age by October 1st
Kindergarten readiness skills are key components to this program, and we will continue to focus on social and emotional growth through play activities utilizing the Pyramid model. Children will have opportunities to develop their listening skills, following directions, communication, problem solving, and building self-confidence. In addition, we use Zoo-phonics© as our curriculum tool for letter recognition and letter sounds, Everyday Math as our Math curriculum, and Story Book Journey to build a foundation for literacy development. Interesting and appealing weekly themes bring the whole program together in a fun and engaging learning atmosphere.
The teachers are dedicated to providing a developmentally appropriate program that will support a child's transition into kindergarten, as well as encourage their individual growth, establishment of friendships, learning, and exploration.
“My daughter just completed the Pre-K program at TVP and we love this school. I felt like there was a really great balance of play-time and structure built in their day. We would recommend this school to anyone!”

Parenting Program
We provide parents through classes in parenting skills, healthy life-styles, and child development; and also parent/child activities fostering relationships, acknowledging the importance of positive parental involvement in early childhood development.
Some of the favorites: “Challenging Behaviors” parent workshop and “Pumpkins & Pizza w/Pop”
“My husband and I really enjoyed the Challenging Behavior workshop, and are having a great time applying what we learned into our daily lives and ‘filling up our children’s tanks’. ”
